Thanks for all your replies, I've come to the conclusion I'm only going to at most record 5 overdubs so I'm not needing much of a big track hardware recorder.

If I had the Mininova or Korg Microkorg I'd definitely get a
Tascam DP-008EX – 8-Track Digital Portastudio or Zoom R8 to do the over dubbing.
