Hi i think the isue is the volca sample have eight voices and then u use all 10
parts at the same time and the same steps in differend parts are aktive they get muted because it had no 10 voices

Please KORG make a firmeware upp to have fluxmode on the V/FM because it sux then u rec a nice melodie and then u hear it and every note is in step and sound horeble flux mode whould make this beast a ...

to change the falue in chromatic u dont need to hold stepmode u need to hold func and then turn the speedknob
edit(and motion seq) dont have to be on only then u whant to edit step by step

so i made the upp with a smartphone and everythings works great

so then i rec a melodie played chromaticly with the retrokitcable did this melodie is recordet in v/sample chromaticly???

The MIDI IN jack lets you use the volca as a sound module for DAW and MIDI controller.

Not sure what you want to do exactly. But if you want to play on the FM and record that into a pianoroll for further editing, you need indeed the MIDI OUT mod. But then you better invest and ...
