How would I sample a vocal to be used as a pad or style?

Can a vocal, input thru a mic, be incorporated into a style or pad?

When editing a style, if I rewrite the bass in VAR1, it will play but will stop playing if I hold a minor chord. I've tried setting the chord to 'm' but it had no effect. Any ideas??

Is there not a setting in the Global settings that you can lock the buttons.

Don't know why that wasn't obvious.

It worked until I turn the pa1000 off. When I turn it back on the assignable switch returns to 'off'.
