How do I turn off the drum kit and play piano and bass line that follows my chords? It would be great if this can be done with or without tempo. Manual says nothing I can find. Thanks.

I solved the problem, in the style play screen CHECK the box BASS INVERSION at the lower right corner

PROBLEM SOLVED.
You can use in mode expert without turning ON BASS INVERSION.

Maybe the OP don't play in split mode. In split mode, expert mode is all but not lazy, under the hood at least!
