Give me some brands, and links people, please?
Hi, I flew with my pa800 internationally in the gator GK-261R. The official dimensions don't actually fit the keyboard, but the keyboard just fits inside. The case actually is not really deep enough, so there is slight pressure applied to the display. If you remove the rubber legs on the pa800, then it is a better fit, but I didn't bother.
About the case:
Advantages: lightest flight case you will find
board will not move around inside
cheaper than other flight cases
Disadvantages: comes with two handles on top in different places, without one handles in the middle. It's great if 2 people are carrying the case, but it's a pain for one person. You could probably install a middle handle yourself.
straps and foam don't seem like they will last forever. I bought my case used, and one of the straps attached to the foam is a little ripped.
I think that this case is the best choice because of the weight.

The foam in the gator case is a hard foam. I am not an expert on cases and their ability to protect keyboards, so I don't know if softer foam (such as the type my dad has in his custom built pa1x case) is better. I doubt you need extra foam, as the fit is pretty tight and the keyboard won't really move around, but you can decide once you buy the case. I added a few sealed bags of air around in the case, but it probably wasn't necessary.
I don't think that the case puts a lot of pressure on the display. I have seen in forums where people say that it's not a good idea to put a keyboard in a case not meant to fit it, but there were also forums where people wrote that they fly with and ship the pa800 in the gator without any problems.
One thing to be aware of is that the case and keyboard together weigh between 24-25 kg, while the international limit for flying is 23kg per piece. Whether you are charged overweight really depends on what airline you are flying and how much the person behind the counter likes you, so be nice
Also, when I flew, I put it in with odd-sized baggage, where they claim to treat it better.
Good Luck, Avi
