Is this possible, SSD question?

Post by robbie50 »

I want to remove my 30GB SSD copy, with "ghost", the systemfiles to a new SSD 120GB. :D

Is this possible?

Is the "startup" time faster then?

Is there something to pay attention at? (to?)

(sorry for my bad english....I'm dutch!) :!:

greetings,

robbie
I use a Taperecorder too......

I'm going to make an attempt myself this weekend (just got my new drive in yesterday), but I thought I remember reading that several users had managed to use one of the open source disk cloning utilities (clonezilla I think) and had a bit of success with it. Most of those are basically just fancy front ends for the unix command dd, so that's what I'm going to try this weekend. dd can make a block by block duplication of one drive to another and then use parted to resize the existing user partition out to use the rest of the capacity of the new drive.
