Sory, Rikki, a style conversion of another manufacturer's style would pose many copyright issues for me, and so I would have to disqualify those entries. If you want to work on a manufacturer's style, any Korg style from any Korg keyboard would be acceptable.

Hi Chris,

Fantastic news - thanks for entering.

Hi Everyone,

The competition is hotting up - Chris will be a serious contender, but don't give up hope. Think of the fame glory and money if you can produce the top style and give Chris a run for the money!

End of June is the deadline for saying you are entering, you then have several months to come up with the new styles!

Hi Chris,
Rob mentioned in another thread that you also had a background with Technics. Did you have any involvement with Technote & the disks???

best wishes

Hi Rob,
Sal's styles are actually commercial styles (not freebies). brilliant too, from the demo's I've heard.

I thought the initial intent was to share the styles that were entered in the comp. with forum members after the competition was over???
Maybe I misunderstood.

Hi Rikki,

This was my mistake - I mistakenly thought Sal was making the styles available free of charge. I can now see that they are not. No, since the styles are commercial then they are not eligible for the competition. I have edited my incorrect posts.

Hi Rob,
Beena bit pre-occupied of late getting a new show together, but I finally read this thread, and was wondering is it too late to throw a couple of entries in?

If its okay to enter it will take me some time to get some together, but they would certainly be submitted prioe to the end of November.

Hi Dennis,

This would be very welcome, thank you. So long as we receive the entries this calendar year up to 31st Dec 08, they will be OK.

Can I still enter !!!

I think many of us have missed this great post and initiative. The problem for me was that these latest posts were in the summer period, so almost not online.

I do agree that stimulating people to make their own style, or change existing styles is not so easy, unless you make some competition !!!!

Great idee Rob, too bad it already has ended with only 3 interest people and only 1 true competitior (Rikky). I am sure Nedim forgot all about this ...

I'm very sorry to everyone who missed this competition, but it was closed as stated on 31st Dec 2008, and I'm very pleased to announce that Rikki has won the competition and will be receiving a prize of 300 Euros for her two entries, the latest being made available to members here:

http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=40640

Please join me in congratulating Rikki. Her prize is well deserved, not just because of the high quality of the styles she has developed, but also because of all the help and advice she gives everyone in how to create styles. The prize money is some surplus funds from the Arranger Secrets DVD project, and it comes with thanks from the whole team of Worth, MickB, FrankieV, Musician2000, my son Paul, and me.

I hope there may be another competition during 2009. This will depend on there being again surplus funds from the "Arranger Secrets" DVD project, and a fourth DVD in the series will be launched soon (covering Sampling).

So get practicing your style making. Any styles you develop during 2009 will be eligible if there is another competition, so long as they are made available to forum members free of charge, and so long as they are your own work and not plaguarised from work created by Korg or anyone else.

Best regards,
Rob

Rikki,
CONGRATULATIONS!!! And thanks for all that you do to help us all.

Rob,
I'm sorry I did not get any entry's in...I guess it was just a little to premature for me...Now I am getting into the board much deeper and doing sounds and starting to learn styles programming.

It wasn't due to lack of interest that I didn't enter.
Thanks for the leadership here. Smile

Lee
