Hi Flycycle,

This is a great idea and would make things so much easier . I don't know why Korg didn't do it themselves really. I have mine set up on a PC though so would be really greatful to hear of any news on whether you manage to work that out too.

Cheers

SAME ERROR MSG

Post by Cpluse »

autogenesis wrote:I'm having problems getting this to work on my Powerbook G4 PPC, OSX 10.4.9. When I run the command in terminal, I get this message

Code: Select all

-bash: /usr/bin/farmpad: cannot execute binary file
No lights flashing on the PK, and no changes in the pads illumination. I hope this will be fixed so I can take full advantage of the Controller in my set.

Nice work on this though, I'm sure it will be invaluable to a lot of people.

Im getting the same error msg. Did anyone find a fix for this or getting away around the problem. Thanks.

Hi, just logged in to say sorry for not updating this app as quickly as I'd have liked. I've just moved in to a new house so progress has been a bit slow recently... I still don't have internet after three weeks - damn BT!

I've been doing some more work on FarmPad and I'll have a new version up soon, (next week?) - I've got different trigger types sorted out now, and I've made it so you can assign Midi notes to different pads (the padKontrol's great for basslines! ;)). Only thing I need to do for the new version is make a way of loading configuration files, so you can edit channels, controls, trigger types etc..

It looks like it doesn't run on PowerPC machines, I'm hoping to borrow one over the weekend so I can see what the problem is.

@zid - if your padKontrol is connected to your machine then you shouldn't see that message - does it show up as connected in Audio MIDI setup?

flycycle, glad to hear from you.

Unfortunatly I still have this mesage

'MacBookPro:~ zid$ /usr/bin/FarmPad; exit
Failed to connect to a padKontrol device

The PK is well recognized in the AudioMidi panel, it shows fine and I can use it.
'don't know what's happening.

+1
Yeah a PC version or any pointers in that direction would be awesome!
Theres a huge number of PC heads lookin for that.
If it helps any, the Covert Operators (HERE) have been working on one for a while. Maybe they could give u some of their work or resources to save u some time.

what a pitty!!
I was so happy to find the trick to have this

MacBookPro:~ zid$ farmpad
Connected to padKontrol.
Entering active mode.
Active mode entered.

in my terminal window..

so..

this is what I 've found for those of you who have this '"Failed to connect to a padKontrol device." message..

use spotlight to find:

- advKorgUSBMIDIDriver.plugin
-KorgUSBMIDIDriver.plugin

(those extensions are only usefull when using KP midi connected not usb)

Trash them.

double click on farmpad (I did an install using the .pk and then I used the file 'farmpad' from my desktop)
The KP wil then flash two times as mentioned..
it is connected.

all is fine except that (test are done with battery 3) even when selecting 'farmpad' in the midi option of the synth,no midi note are received, only control messages on chanel 1.. (I am also using Midi Monitor to check what goes in and on).. but maybe this is the next step..

what kind of app do you guys use with farmpad?

(and of course, soooory for my little and funny english!)

Just tried hunting down the files:

- advKorgUSBMIDIDriver.plugin
-KorgUSBMIDIDriver.plugin

Didn't find them, and no success in getting farmpad to work. All I get is:

-bash: /usr/bin/farmpad: cannot execute binary file

Running 10.4.9 on a dual 1.8 G5

Loving this project, can't wait to make it happen on my own pK!

Hi.

I get exactly the same thing, unable to connect even though it's in the MIDI panel and working. :( Not sure what to do now. Shame, is exactly what I'm looking for. :) Good luck with future work and thanks for sharing.

dual 1 ghz G4

is this project still being worked on or has it gone the way of all other pk light toggle fixes?
