Hi al, I heave few Q!
My problem i that the pax Series heave only 32 MB sample RAM max.
And load time for 32 mb for me is like almoust 5 minutes.
Thats a huge waiting on stage, specialy if you need to load , 2 or 3 set on one GIG!
So 128 MB sample ram on PA2X upgare to 256 is superb, but what kind of RAM is there on this NEW KB?
If its old technique than we heave serius problem , that means its going to take 50 minutes to load? Rolling Eyes
i dont think its that way, but i,m stil wondering how long load time this is, And if its like PA800, than it cant take so many minutes, And we dont need to load ?
Couse is in the SSD? Question Question Question

Another Q, Is there new styles? New Samples?
New Sounds,
Whats new IN the KB?
Are the options on board or do we heave to buy , MP3, VOICE modelling,
And the most important Q for me is, What about EXB ?
Can i use my EXB,s on it?
From what i can see, the KB is build from the need of Users of KORG PAX series, Usb 2.0 is great, Idea
To host are superb,
2 MP3 , on the same time is great.
But, what do you gust think, IS IT A NEW KB, OR IS IT , RECYKLE of PA1X ELITE , ?
And why is korg so quayit for this, THIS CANT BE A SHAME, This is great, especialy for sample based set users.
And how much wil this cost?
WE NEED MORE INFO, can any of you guys leak out litle more, Question

Hi Asena,
i´m very sure it´s a PA800 in another case with 76 keys.
look at the tech. specs and you´ll find it out too.

no EXB´s - so this is not a replacement for PA1X - it´s a step back.

my biggest wishes for a new key are not done
- no better and bigger display
- more poly
- more Sample RAM - 2GB should be possible
- 4 EXB Places
- much faster handling (PA1X reacts tooooo slow)

And all this points showing me that Korg has NOT designed a new key - they use the "OLD" hardware and built this in a new housing - and then present this as a new keyboard - sorry KORG - i´m sure that no one own a PA1X or PA800 will change to PA2X - for these little features more.

cuall
Detlef Wink

but i think for new entries maybe it´s a very good choice if you don´t need EXB´s

The only thing that would make me change it will be the RAM and not having
to LOAD the SETS everytime like on the PA1X, other then that NOTHING!
I am not even a fan of 76 or semiweighted keys, i am a fast SOLO player
they just slow me down. But that RAM of 256MB is nothing impressing so
i am done with my PA800 too...AUDYA is coming to my house soon.

I think this is more stuped than the FAKE discussion, I mean no EXB?

Thats realy MAD, SORY KORG , But if KORG will stay on the stage than KORG must look att what heapened to ROLAND.
They did same DUMY thing and just Recykled the KB;s.Same old MT 32 on it!Same old GM GS, Same old Styles.
Who,s making the styles, 80 year old people, that dont heave a clue about, DANCE MUSIC, MODERN MUSIC?MANY STYLES ARE GRET, NO HARM, BUT MORE OF THE MODERN STUFF IS NEEDED.
SORY BUT I,m saying that couse no one else saying it!
And now they are not on the BACK STAGE EIGTHRE.
So why shud the customers buy an old KORG for New money?
PA800 is a great KB, And even there is to litle on it, it cost 2200 euros.
And what will heapen to PAX series, when the PA2X is out?
No more OS no upgrades no more nothing? Rolling Eyes

They cand fool this forum, and we are not DUMY,s.
Dont get me wrong, but this KB AUDYA, Heave more stuff in it and on it, Why dont KORG open this chapter, just look what heapened to OASYS.

Dont go back, we heave future in the horizont here. Arrow
I cant see my self waiting 5 minutes for loading time, and i heave superb Set maded whit EXB FROM TURKEY! Shocked
NO KORG HEAVE MY SPECIFIC SOUNDS THAT I MADE!
RESPECT ORIENTAL MUSICIANS AND ORIENTAL CULTURE.
Put people in the work for some sounds maded for oriental music players. Fix more Quality Styles from INDIA, ARABIA, TURKEY, GREECE, and AFRICA, and more. Smile

I think that Korg had to design Pa1X from the beginning to have at least the PA800's new functions. They knew the limits. They knew that 32 mb of RAM is little (64mb was OK since this instrument uses 2 slots for RAM memory!!), 62 voices polyphony is a second limit since all other brands allowed 128 notes polyphony and EQ of course! As for the Floppy I think that 2003 (pa1x pro's released year) was between-season period.

Regards,
Dimitris

... I forgot! As for the double mp3 player I believe the same, Korg could design it from the beggining. Know they "correct" their "mistakes".

"BUT MORE OF THE MODERN STUFF IS NEEDED"

This is very very true Asena. They should go to the Black Cracks in LA and not go to 80 year old styleworkers somewhere in Europe Twisted Evil

Dear Lord, give us soulful groove in our styles.

Hi,

Quote:
but what kind of RAM is there on this NEW KB?

It is a new type, we also use in M3. I don't have loading times, yet, but it is faster than Pa1X.

Quote:
And we dont need to load ?

Autoload of PCM Samples is implemented.

Quote:
Are there new styles? New Samples?

Styles are the same as in Pa800. I can't reveal any info about the samples.

Quote:
Are the options on board or do we heave to buy , MP3, VOICE modelling

The Dual MP3 Player and Recorder is standard. The Voice Modeling option is not available.

Quote:
And the most important Q for me is, What about EXB ?

EXBs are no longer supported for environmental reasons. But a new way of distributing protected PCM data will be available with USB media. More about this later. Creators of EXB cards will be able to convert their data to this new, more efficient and less expensive format, and offer their customers an upgrade path.

Quote:
But, what do you gust think, IS IT A NEW KB, OR IS IT , RECYKLE of PA1X ELITE , ?

This is a new keyboard, with the same, latest sound technology also offered on M3 and Pa800. Hardware has been redesigned, so you will find a new main board, and new input/output circuitry. We are very proud of the solutions adopted for this new design.

Quote:
no better and bigger display

The display is better than the one in Pa1X (better viewing angle, more colors, faster response to touch). We think the size is the right one for our user interface.

Quote:
more poly

Double, compared to Pa1X.

Quote:
more Sample RAM - 2GB should be possible

Alas, not with the current technology. Unless we agree on foolish loading times or higher final prices.

Regards,
Paolo
