I sequenced many songs in my old triton. Is it possible to load these songs into the korg M3 and then reassign them new sounds?

No, M3 doesn't read Triton's .sng files.
But you can convert songs to SMF and load them in M3

Yes, no problem there, they are both Triton so everything is compatible between them, like any other Triton.
You'll just have to reassign some sounds maybe.

if i get the m3 and save the songs first as a midi file from the original triton sng will for example an a bank sound turn into a gm bank sound? do u mean the basic skeleton of the song will be there but i just need to reassign new sounds.. or what do u suggest. cos i need to buy a new keyboard but i dont wanna loose my old sequences cos i use them for gigging.

Now, what I say is just my opinion, based on years playing strictly Korg keyboards.
When you convert your songs to standard midi format (SMF) so you can make them work in M3, they will play (after reassigning sounds and all that, you know how to do it), BUT - there is no way that smf can sound as good as original. Period.
I guess you put a lot of effort to those songs, assigned proper sounds, desired effects, everything you made is just perfect for you, isn't it? Try converting one of them to SMF now, before buying M3 - convert it and play it in Triton. You'll see what I mean.
SMF - no good. Original - oh yes.
My advice would be - keep your Triton and buy M3 if you can. If you can't, you really don't lose that much. M3 is all about Karma. And that's it.
Not that I have something against it. But it isn't much better than Triton, for some things it isn't better at all.
There will probably be more posts - angry M3 owners will say I'm wrong.
Maybe I'm, like I said, it's my opinion.
Don't forget to convert one song now, just to hear the difference.
Every smf song sounds the same to me, no character at all.

About buying new keyboard...
I think this isn't good time to buy M3. Buy Extreme. Everything is compatible with your Triton, you have tons of sounds, 96 MB of sampling memory, you can install MOSS (if you find one).
M3 will probably be good when it comes to final stage of it's production, like Extreme in Triton series.
I will buy M3 Extreme one day. Very Happy
