ok i was wondering if someone could help me out. i want to use my mpc as a sequencer and play sounds from the triton extreme and record them into the sequencer tracks of the mpc. i asked at sam ash and they gave me a usb to midi cable. i just cant figure out how this is suposed to work. cant find anything in the manual. did they give me the right stuff? in the manual it says usb is only for transfer of data to and from computers. i don't get it. i told the guy what i wanted to do and that's what he gave me. does anybody now how to hook this up. shuldn't i be useing midi to midi?
anyway what ever the case may be. how and what should i use to do this function. if you don't want to help me at least tell me were in the manual i can find the info. i need to know how to set the triton extrem to send the info into the mpc. i looked in the manual but cant seem to figure it out. and if you could how to set the mpc to recive info from the triton. don't have an mpc manual. i know im asking alot but i need help.
thanks. please help |

Well then, bring it straight back and choke the idiot that gave it to you with it. Tell him you need 2 standard midi cables, and that Sharp from KORG Forums said that he is a complete and utter idiot.
When you get them, connect the IN on your MPC to the OUT of the Triton, and the OUT of your MPC to the IN on your Triton.
Straight away you should start to see results.
Regards.

Sharp's pissed off... Not very often can we see that.
Let's join our forces and take 100 meters of cables and choke more of those idiots in music stores, there are many of them. |

Excuse me, what does this mean "Ganging up on me"? And "Kettle", what's that?
We are planing to realize your plans to choke few music store workers, Nedim expanded it to Korg support (you are not that support that we are going to choke) and we'll add some more if necessary... |

With connection Sharp described, there are no actual sounds ported from Extreme to MPC. You control Extreme's sounds with MPC, that's all.
So when you make your sequences on MPC, they will control Extreme's sounds. And when you save them, you'll save those sequences, not sounds itself.
But if you don't change connection settings, master - slave relations between two, and load those sequences from floppy, everything should work fine. |
