|
|
Hi Forum!
I would like to have a vibrato coming in smothly only when i hit a key harder. This way i would like to simulate the missing aftertouch.
I cannot find out how to program this feature. Is it possible?
Ciao, Dirk. |

Try using the Virtual Patch function (you'll need OS 2.0).
Set up one patch with Velocity as the source and a second V Patch as the destination.
Set up the second V patch to map one of the LFOs to Pitch.
Tweak the intensity of each V Patch until you get the sort of response to velocity that you're after.
What this does:
The first V patch controls the vibrato intensity via velocity.
The second V patch controls the vibrato rate and maximum intensity. _________________ I sing the body electric |

Oops, I realized you wanted the vibrato to fade in.
The above instructions would give you stronger vibrato with higher velocity, but it won't fade in. To do that you'd need a third V Patch, use EG3 set for slow attack (this is your fade-in), no decay, max sustain level, long release. Then have that V Patch modulate the intensity of the velocity V patch.
In other words try:
V Patch 1 source: EG3, dest: V Patch 2
VPatch 2 source: velocity, dest: V Patch 3
V Patch 3 source: LFO, dest: pitch
Good luck. _________________ I sing the body electric |

Hi Mr. fulton,
many thanks for your input. That brings me half the way. But this is not exactly what i want. I want no vibrato for velocity values below 100 and i want full vibrato for velocity values greater or equal to 100.
Is this possible?
Many thanks in advance!

Hey, meatballfulton, that's some nice use of OS 2.0 features.
I'm afraid it's not possible to set a threshold where velocities below 100 give no vibrato and velocities above 100 give full vibrato. |

My guess is no. I don't know of any way to do velocity switching on the Radias.
Maybe a better workaround than velocity control would be to use an expression pedal and map that to aftertouch. _________________ I sing the body electric |
