Anyone using an RME soundcard with their TS via Optical?

I'm about to upgrade my DAW and soundcard.
I'm thinking about connecting a RME HDSP 9632 via their optical connection with the TS.
I am aware that the optical connection supports 48 or 96 kHz.
According to RME, this is possible.
But I'd like to know if any TS owners are using the optical connection,
and if so, which sound card are you using?

I have RME card and in beginning checked the possibility of recording through digtal but as i use 44.1 kHz in all my projects, chose analog instead to avoid resampling. Could not find any significant distinctions between analog and digital modes but maybe You`ll find it more convenient?

So did you purchase or build your own 1/4" mono male to XLR male cables when using analog?

No, I use only 1/4 jacks because my RME Multiface does not have XLR`s. Though I have modified its` converters with Burr-Brown ones so it sounds nicely.
