Hello to you all
My name is Steve and I am a proud owner of Oasys 76 (serial no. 000542). Picking it up after a 560 mile round trip from Teesside to London (UK) and back, I managed to stay up nearly all night just enjoying this wonderful machine.
It is in pristine condition, my thanks to Scott (master logic) for a first class and friendly transaction and also for forwarding his completed part of the "Changing User Registration Information Form" which I will send off tomorrow. Thanks and best of luck Scott.
I have been a fairly regular visitor here and at Karma Lab, so I know a little bit about this machine and yourselves to some degree already. Never really thought I would own one or be part of this, but here I am.
Looking forward to playing, learning, writing, recording and enjoying
Bye for now
Steve |

Congratulations Steve - you have a monster on your hands now. I'm coming up on 2 years owning an OASYS and the 'new and exciting' feeling hasn't faded yet! I hope you have many similar years of joy composing and playing on your OASYS.

Kevin - If that's the case I have a lot of fun ahead with this thing.
Just can't stop playing at the moment, not one bit of time learning anything from the manual. I guess sometimes the learning is more fruitful by messing around.
I must admit I have watched all of Stephen Kay's videos, and these have helped a great deal to get into the basics of what does what. I will add my thanks to all of you who have benefitted from his time, effort and gift at bringing this technology to life.
I plan to add 1 GIG of ram at the weekend, anyone can point the best place to purchase in the UK.
Thanks again for the welcome
Bye for now

Hi Steve -
Yes - I am not exaggerating when I say it still feels new. It literally still feels that way. Its very unusual for an instrument to sustain that level of novelty - I suppose it's down to a combination of factors such as its impressive specs., its very inviting interface and ergonomics, as well as regular and meaningful OS and synthesis engine updates. But it's also because as you demand more from it when trying to improve your writing, it deliverers. Very unique and very impressive.
Regarding RAM - I referred to the Parameter Guide -> Appendix -> Option boards / Memory / Calendar Battery section where it references the valid types of memory to use. I purchased mine over the internet from
http://www.crucial.com/uk/
It has worked flawlessly for over a year and a half - no complaints in this regard.
Cheers,
Kevin. |

Hello Steve - welcome to the O-Club!
Have fun and enjoy your latest toy - Kevin described the "new"-feeling quite accurate! |
