Hello fellow TE users,
I want to modify a sound to make it glide/portamento between two keys, or between two chords.
Using the joystick alone doesn't cut it for me.
To tell you the truth I don't even know where to start. If someone would put me on the right path it would be much appreciated.

The Triton extreme does have a portamento.
Can't remember what pages it's on, but it's likely to be on page 1 or 2. Just turn it on, set your values, and then assign it to SW 1 so you can turn it off and on without having to edit the program.

Click MENU then go to BASIC the first page, set it to MONO and check LEGATO.
Click MENU again, go to PITCH page, on the bottom choose the last page,
in there check PORTAMENTO and FINGERED then adjust the amount.

It works!!
lol
I made a sample out of what I wanted to do. Now if I could assign that sample to fire when I hit a specific key that would be awsome.
Right now the sample plays when I hit any key, at that pitch key level.
But that's not what I want. Sorry for being such a leech. |

Well, that's normal sound's behavior...
But, if that isn't what you want, I suppose you want that sample to sound only at one key or at specific range of keys.
If you want it to sound only on one key, map it to that key only (range options in sampling menu, recording tab, OrigKey and TopKey options).
If you want it to sound at specific range of keys, but at the same pitch regardless of the key, then you have to map it to one key again, in Preferance tab choose right, zone range - 1 key; then back to recording tab, create as many indexes as you want, and choose your sample to that index. Do the same with following index and repeat until you get desired range.
If you want your sample to sound at specific range of keys and to change pitch regarding the keys, then you specify range, in preference choose Original Key Position: Center, assign your sample to index 1 and you'll have your sample pitched across the selected range and not across the entire board.
Now, if your answer isn't among those above, then specify what you need little bit further.

Ahh you guys rock!
I got it to do what I wanted to do. Thanks shrike.
But I have another quick question, than I should be ok for a while.
I've recorded a sample from a program. It created two samples (L & R).
I've copied it to a bank N empty prgrm so I could use it in a combi. Everthing seems to work except it appears I only have one mono part of the sound in the pgrm.
What is the trick to transfer both channels in the same program?

It's not enough to have stereo samples - you have to create stereo multisample and assign it to program.
Page 106 in Parameter Guide will explain it in detail. |

Like you wouldn't believe. And how better to get tips from then the experts we have right here, Shrike, Sharp, Nedim 
Every time i talk to Shrike he tells me something new about TE that i had no idea it could do and just amaze me.
