I was considering buying one of the Zero 8 series but after reading this and seeing information on YouTube about the hissing, I am reluctant. Maybe I am approaching this my whole setup wrong. I need some advice. Here is what I want to do. I am using a ProTools LE surface system with a MAC. I would like the ability to use Ableton Live 6 Clips mixed with music I create on the M3 and sounds mixed in from a V-Synth at the same time. I saw on the Zero 8 that you bring it all together and it would automatically sync up the different genres or beat per minute to make it sound great. Am I approaching this wrong?
Thanks. |

The MIDI clock syncing to BPM meter on the Zero8 is not good enough to beatmatch music. I have sync'd Ableton to my turntables, but it doesn't match well enough to mix that way. |

Thanks for the info. What would you suggest if not the Zero 8. |

The next best option is the Allen & Heath Xone 3D.
It's a lot more expensive, though.
Ableton Live has been around for years, and the Korg Zero8 was the first decent DJ-mixer style MIDI controller ever made. Hard to believe nobody has gotten this right yet. |
