Hi everyone,
I wonder if anyone here can advise me how to make a normal movie out of a flash movie?I mean what do I have to do to be able to watch a flash movie in my ordinary DVD player? At the moment I save all my flash files in realplayer. So only my computer can play these videos.I'm pretty new to all this as I just upgraded my old computer with a new Vista one. Also I have broadband at last.
Any ideas and advise would be very welcome.

there is a freeware (or donationware... can't remember) that is called FFmpegX that convert every format into every format... or at least many of them... I think it's really useful!

Hi Lorenzo,

Thanx for the link. The problem is I don't know all the terms of all the different videos. What do you call a video which plays in a ordinary dvd player?I'm totally new to this.I would love to see all the videos I saved from the net on my dvd player. At the moment I can see them only in real player.I have no idea what to do.Perhaps I leave this for the moment.Realplayer will have to do for now.

it's a .VOB file but when you have to burn the DVD remember to encode the video (don't know what software are you using but I guess it allows you to chose to burn a DVD video) just in case... I mean, avoid to just copy the file on the DVD.
Regards, Lorenzo

There are extensions that will only play with certain software that's installed, or has to be installed on your computer.
Flash files will play if you have Adobe Flash Player, Real Player installed.

To create a dvd, Flash files have to be converted to a format that's compatible with your dvd burning software.
The files that work best for creating DVD's are mpeg-2 files.
Basically, you need software that will convert Flash files to MPEG-2 (best format for DVD) and then use your burning software (Nero, ROXIO, Tmpgenc, etc)
to create/author the DVD.

Keep in mind, that converting formats can create other problems, i.e., video/audio sync problems, noise, jittery video and quality issues.
It can also take hours with these conversions, depending upon the type of processor that's in your PC.

Some versions of the above software will do these conversions, i.e., VOB to MPEG, WMV to MPEG, DVR-MS to MPEG, MOV to MPEG, without the aid of additional software.
However, it doesn't usually convert flash files.
You can find commercial or free software that will convert the flash files.

So really, unless you're into video editing, I wouldn't suggest jumping into it, without a good processor in your PC and some know how.

I'm sure a person like Synthia that owns and owned so many workstation and keyboard won't have any problem with a video conversion software... ffmpegX is really easy to be used and if the first try will give bad result all you need to do is to change codec and you'll get what you need.

Cheers,guys Smile

I may be good with synths but I'm useless with computers, believe me.My new PC is a powerhouse with alot of stuff but also a steep lurning curve is involved. As I have Real Player installed I think I leave my videos with that.I have far too many files which would need converting.
Hell, since this new PC I haven't touched a single key,now that's real bad for me.I'm getting withdraw symtoms.
