Hey,
When I play live with my band, I use a Korg Triton Extreme 88, which also controls my Roland Fantom XR, and sometimes I also include a Korg X5D, wich all go through my Behringer Mixer where I then take an XLR to the FOH.
My question is this. So far I have only taken Jack leads out of the L-Mono outputs of each instrument into each channel of my mixer. Should I be taking them out of both L-mono and the R main outputs into two separate channels and panning them L and R??
Let me know what you guys do.
Hope I have written this clearly enough.
Thanks, |

I always connect my Extreme stereo. Mono just don't have the sound spaciness and richness which your keyboards can achieve.
Of course, with panning you can disperse sounds to and part of stereo field.

definitely go stereo
it's a huge difference, especially with "spacial" effects (reverbs, delays) |

If you are using Combinations, many of the presets have programs assigned differently to R and to L channels, you may be losing sounds if you are only using the L channel. Also, most of the effects are stereo effects (like chorus) and just do not sound right at all if you only route out of one channel. If i'm ever limited to a MONO PA system, I use a Y adapter to merge the channels. |
