I loved this song growing up and got ridiculed for it mercilessly. All my friends, musicians I jammed with and every guy I ever spoke to as well. It really is a great song. Glad to see you nominated and I will second it!
And there was this one time at band camp......

and
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIYrXxxRekE
welp pretty much ANYTHING from Depeche mode!!
and
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECznJPcWiRI

Funny story behind the Main sound on the Seal song is that it was originally a preset on the K2000 but was removed before release of the keyboard because Seals Label wanted it so!! At least thats what I heard!

Gotta add this one too!!

It's 1979. I've grown up in a small town in semi-rural Oregon where there were only two radio stations - a top 20 station and a country music station. I'd just moved to the "big city" of Portland to go to college, and for the first time heard music which sounded NOTHING like anything I'd ever heard before.

While not strictly "electronica" in the modern sense, these two pieces absolutely and completely blew me away, and made me decide that I just HAD to get into this whole "synthesizer thang":

Gary Numan: are 'friends' electric? and Down In The Park

That is legendary!! Thought he was taking the piss at first, but after hearing it it kinda sucks you in! Loved his Crystal Cat tune. A touch of Underworld in there, too. Thanks for sharing that!

gotta love dan deacon :D
the guy is definitely the reincarnation of Booji-Boy
when you first see the guy you think its a joke, then you start to notice what he is doing...

that NBC morning show appearance is funny as hell. his fly is down during the whole performance

as far as other votes for greatest electronic song ever it would have to go to

Devo - Mongoloid or Girl U Want
Tangerine Dream - StratosFear
Gary Numan - Are Friends Electric?
and of course...
The normal - Warm Leatherette!! 8)
