Hi..

i've connected my roland rd700sx (stage piano) on the input (1 and 2) of my korg radias. in this way the piano signal is interpreted by radias as a wave form for oscillator 1 , and i can use the radias as a sound processor. but i can't understand what i have to do when i don't want the radias to process the sound of my piano... the only solution is to disconnect the audio in cable ?

thank you

I've found that the only way the RADIAS lets audio in make any sound is when you've pressed and held a note--ie midi note on message. As long as the note/s are held, the audio in will sound, but once you remove the shoe, brick, wallet or whatever else you've left on the RADIAS' keys to produce the constant note on, the sound cuts out. So press and hold a note on the RADIAS and sound will pass through and come out the audio outs, let go of that note and the sound never makes it to the audio out.

try [GLOBAL]->[P01 COMMON]->[AudInThru]-> "Ext In 1 + 2".
this passes the input audio from "ext in" right to the Radias' main outs.

Thanks for the "audio in" tip.
This has saved me hours of experimenting on my own.
but the input source is now passive -
How would I now use the same signal chain to affect the "Audio In" source through the Radias EFX's - Filters etc.
thanks in advance

Somewhere at the higher end of factory programs you'll find misc. programs for processing external audio with the Radias fx. This works great, I use often one timbre as effect processor for my Electribe.

Thanks for the "input" (pun intended) klangsulfat.
Yea I know about the upper patch external inputs.
I'm looking for a way to process the in coming sound through the
chain described by Kossi.
" [GLOBAL]->[P01 COMMON]->[AudInThru]-> "Ext In 1 + 2".
any thoughts
thanks again

You have two options:

1. For audio sources coming from MIDI devices connect MIDI OUT of the piano to MIDI IN on the Radias and set the MIDI channel appropriately. Every time you play a note you will trigger a note on the Radias.

2. For audio sources coming from non-MIDI devices set up the patch to use the Envelope Follower to trigger the note in the Radias. Read pages 67 and 76 in the manual.

There's some factory presets that use the envelope follower you can play with to see how it works:

O12 AudioIn INIT
O13 Audio Grain
O14 StLine Filter
O15 StLine Gating
