|
|
Ok, so I was at a Sonata Arctica concert last night, and I'm trying to identify one of the synths Henrik was using (for any who know them, not his Roland AX-7/1 keytar). Anyways, this synth had a small, maybe 2x4 inch orange backlit screen (might be the most unique feature), about 5 faders/sliders on the far left side, and a fairly prominent pitch/mod stick, with a protruding base (i.e. the base of the pitch stick was raised above the keyboard chassis, not just the stick itself). Very few keys, either 49 or 61. I was too far to see the brand. Any ideas? |

Well, I know he's used Kurzweil 2500/2600 series, Korg Tritons and Karmas, and of course his Roland AX-1/7...but I've never seen this beast! I wonder what it could be....? |

I have pictures, but none of them really show enough of the synth. You can only really see the backlight... |

I'm sure Sonata Arctica's keyboardist uses a Karma...
When I saw them in Milan I remember he had just one Karma.
Children of Bodom and Nightwish uses Karma too

I would agree with the Karma idea, but I forgot to mention that the synth had a grey body, not the Karma burgundy - did they make Karmas without it? But it could be a Karma...I don't know. |

Well, Nightwish keyboardist, i.e., have all his keyboard painted, so don't focus so much on the color detail; they point a lot on the visual side of the show so it don't marvel if they changed the body colour.
