mac pro vst standalone and korg x3 connection

Hi all,
i've got a korg x3 ('94) and i want to use it like masterkeyboard to play software of east west like symphonic choirs colossuss etc that run as standalone (with internal virtual keyoboard) and or like pugins in more seq sw like cubase logic and ohter. i've also a mac pro intel xeon 2.8 ghz 8 core 8 gb whit leopard.

Can i play my korg (and so my vst standlaone sw of east west) like a mute keyb. via midi? is my x3 compatible with my mac pro set up?
