Awsome forum. I've already learned a ton from reading through the posts.
This is my first real synth, and so far I've been able to figure most of it out. The one thing that's getting me though is the lag in MIDI timing. Mainly the LFO and Arpeggiator sync. The delay effect seems the tightest.
I've got it set in global mode to recieve external clock, and I'm using a Mac on OS 9.2 running Pro Tools 5.2, which is sending out MIDI beat clock. An ancient system I know. It seems I've got everything set up right, and it does work...it just lags.
My MS2000R is running OS 1.5 I believe. Did any of the later updates fix this? I'm not too interested in updating the OS if all it does is add more presets, as I tend to start my sounds from scratch. But if the later updates somehow improve the units timing or some other utilitarian tasks I'm all for it. |

I think you mean OS 1.05, not 1.5.
The latest version, 1.07, certainly improves MIDI sync (although it's still not perfect). You should update and see for yourself.
You can get the update from here:

Oops. Yes, the OS is version 1.05. Thanks for the link to 1.07. Although now I've got to figure out how to install the new OS using a Mac, running OS 9.2!
Or do I need to find a friend that's got Windows + MIDI port? |
