Hi I'm new here, our band owns a Micro Korg and every time we try to use the Vocoder in a gig it gives the most horrific feedback. It's a big splodge of feedback at around 2kHz. I've put filters on it but it doesn't seem to make a difference. The mic is a Shure SM58 Beta. The one that came with it is too floppy to stand up straight any more - I know - that's what she said.....

Has any one had a similar problem? (the feedback, not floppiness Razz

I've noticed that even in the studio under normal monitoring conditions it's hard to not get feedback going. Makes me think I'm not going to be able to use the vocoder live. I'm going to try it out this week at rehearsal.

Hi,

feedback problems are common with vocoders. There is not much you can do about it but to cut down your monitor volume. For live i tried a feedback destroyer and bought me behringer shark dsp 110. These units detect feedbacks and cut down the band where the feedback is in. This helps a little bit but don´t expect too much. A short delay also helps because every 10ms of delay means about 3 more meters of distance of your monitor.
