Pa2X Pro SysEx docs ?
Is there any documentation about system exclusive messages for the pa2x like there is for the M3 ?
Thanks
Thanks
But it seems that you can only assign Control to an input track. Does this mean that it's impossible to record variations, mute state,... to an external sequencer ?
Also I don't get current tempo from the pa2 (not the clock, some sysex or cc that would send current tempo). I need this to set the tempo to my daw to have my vsti play in sync (at least kind off) so I don't have to adjust by hand.
Anyway, I don't see the pa sending anything else than notes and standard stuff (pc, bend, cc's). What is that sysex filter for, if it doesn even send sysex
Really annoying

You're right, songs can have sysex and they are sent.
I notice that it will also send sysex on a fade in/out which is good so I can use it on the M3 or my Vsti.
I know about the clock, but what I wanted is a single sysex that has the current tempo after a style change, user input, song change ...
The problem is that most daw can't be synced from an external midi clock.
So the idea is to just change the global tempo of the host when receiving that message, which is good enought as in this case it's not for recording but just for a live setup, hosting vst plugs.
Both the M3 and the s900 (and probably most arranger/synth) will send that info, I'm just suprised that the pa2x can't do that.
Also on the M3 I can set all Global settings from an external app, so when I launch the daw (or quit), everything is setup automatically for that specific usage. In terms of communicating with the external world, the pa2x is probably the worst I have ever seen

Thanks, but I know about Midi clock (status = 0xF8, 24 messages per beat) can be received/sent to/from the pa2x, but that's not what I'm looking for. I want a single message that shows current tempo, and AFAIK the pa2x doesn't send such a message.
When recording in a software sequencer I do control the hardware synths from the daw, but in a live setup I don't want to adjust the tempo in the host. That's why, while I send the midi clock to the M3, I set the tempo in the host using a macro (sysex -> keystrokes). This is working well with the s900 or the M3 but I can't do it with the pa2x (well I could guess the tempo from the midi clock, but that's a little more work).
So I guess that I will have to select the tempo on the M3 and send it's clock to the pa2x.
The only host I have that does a descent job with external midi clock is Bidule, but I use it mainly as a plug for crazy routing stuff as its not really a sequencer.
Yeah, I went a little nuts lately, but the m3 with karma and the pa2x + 8 instances of kontakt and 16 of zebra in my current live setup is kind of fun
Now what I really like on the pa2x is that I will be able to create fake sounds (empty osc) to access directly my vsti.
And I found some new sysex, in Sound mode pretty much any setting is sending out a sysex, could be useful to generate patches from an external app.

Re: Pa2X Pro SysEx docs ?
Supposing pa2x acts like PA800 as far as SYSEX data processing is concerned its obvious that even if SYSEX documentstion was available we wouldnt be able to use most of "SYSEX-driven" keyboard capabilities from an external application.mbncp wrote:Is there any documentation about system exclusive messages for the pa2x like there is for the M3 ?
