|
|
A couple thousand people showed up in downtown Tijuana, Mexico for the 4th Annual International Beer Fest, a 3 day event.
Micro-breweries from Mexico, US and Germany were on hand offering free samples of their choicest hops and barley.
Nice!
I especially liked the dark German lagers.
Saturday night I played with a local future-retro band named Laplace. www.laplace.com.mx
Sunday the stage manager informed me several bands could not make the show and that he had lots of time to fill.
He asked if I was interested.
Absolutely.
The show ran from 12 noon until 7pm.
I must have played for 2-3 hours in total.
I just sat next to the stage near the audio mixer and took cues from the sound engineer.
I finally got a chance to try out some new material I had been working on.
Several people told me it sounded great.
It was so easy, I just made a list of my favorite patterns and muted tracks in sync with the beat.
The PA system was awesome, huge bass cabinets with horns, 64 channel mixing console, heavy duty power amps.
I owe alot to the technicians and engineers at Korg as well as you guys here on the forum providing such good technical information.
I strongly recommend all EMX owners to get out there a play 2-3 live gigs.
It's an awesome experience.
But hey, it's an awesome machine!
