Not absolutely sure I'm done with this, I just spent most of the day today, putting it together, and my ears are fried.
Confused
I'm hoping for some comments, so blast away.

REAllY Smoothe...., My Friend...

Love the character in the lead...and the background lends excellent support...

GREAT chord structure ..right in line with the idea and theme...!! WELL DONE..

Maybe it will be that it is just me dumb...but...I don't see anything wrong or missing....Perhaps a bit more use of other organ stops would add a bit if added to the guitar for a short phrase....might lend additional interest....

I key change is another good idea...just for a period perhaps...BUT!! Very Happy

I think it is really "KEYNE"...; just like it is!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for getting it on...It is GREAT to me...

While I love the vibe here, the intro seems to need something, just seems sparse, nothing actually wrong there, maybe just a couple measures too long. Once it kicks in though it's all there and gelling beautifully. The drums are doing the trick quite nicely. I like the development on the chords around 1:30. After like 2:40 the drums sound like a totally different song and not a variation of the same thing .. hm. I think there's a diff effect on them at this point, or the drum set is totally different, while it sounds good (actually I like it better than the opening drums) it gives just a small sense of being disconnected to the first part, but this is very minor and may not be worth worrying about. I'm trying to think how you can take this strong style of yours to another level and still maintain what you do. This is the challenge I face every song. I think maybe in the future you might consider experimenting with dual guitar leads, or guitar and organ duets, or try a smooth vibe from a different era, like a james bond twangy thing with a little groove going on in the bass. But this mix sounds really nice, and I'm just thinking out loud or whatever you call this forum chatter. Very cool, Stephen. Keep pumping these out, I guess. I don't know how you do so much music and keep it so clean and it's really not the same old thing each time, each song of yours has its own appeal.

Hi there Mr. Chill Smile

This groove reminds me of one of your other tunes - I think it is the percussion maybe - not sure exactly.

Yes the intro. could use a little more development - it goes on too long before the guitar sings in.

One thing for me was that bass line is a very simple loop. I think a bit more there would add to the tune - especially at the sections. I would be more than happy to do a bass line if you'ld like.

The change up with the organ @ 2:20 - the voice was a bit to soft - I would drive it up - like you did on your other tune that used an organ in the bridge.

The guitar sounds perfect - not even one nit.

I liked the chord changes that led to the ending.

I agree with the comments about the intro, gotta work on that, and I'm gonna do something different with the drums in the second section.

Art, I'll email you an MP3 without any bass, so you'll have that to play along with, then just send me what you come up with if you would.
I'm very excited about hearing your bass in this.
Very Happy

Thanks for listening, and your suggestions, they're very helpful.
Regards,

Critical...nothing. Great song, perfect.

Preferences- well I personally love the sparse intro. What I really do NOT like a whole lot is the percussion. I wanted a slower halftime beat that built up and then doubled when the organ part kicked in...and then backed down to half pace after that. AND the sound needs to be richer. But this is my personal preference. I was thinking heavier rock ballad style.

There is a SMALL issue with compression right toward the very end of the song as it is wrapping up. It sticks out prominently there.

Other than that this is well done, performance and placement of notes is great.

I'm really glad you mentioned the percussion, I just wasn't happy with that at all!
I made some changes, but still need to work on it more, especially after I get Art's bass part, I'm excited about that.
Thanks Jon.

I like the intro, I've been meaning to try and lengthen mine.

Classy playing as always Stephen, great recording too, every note and every nuance can be heard.
Nice range with the lead too, love that bend!
