I haven't got a microKorg yet but I'm trying to decide between the micron or microKorg. I was wondering whether the Korg could emulate old 8-bit Nintendo sounds ala Horse the band.

The micron is great, but the microkorg is better. Sure, maybe it's half the polyphony..but I found the alesis a little chunky, albeit small for my purposes (using it anywhere and everywhere).

MICRON? NO BATTERY POWER EITHER.

That kind of limits you to being next to an outlet at starbucks, now doesn't it? If your laptop can run on batteries, shouldn't a synthesizer that's designed to be used on the go do the same thing too?

8-bit? You're talking about completely different sound generation methods here. But yes, I can assure you it is capable of it, although the real way is to actually route through the nintendo's sound

Ok, I don't understand really. Are you able to guide me through how I'd do this.

horse the band use a ms2000 and the microkorg is based on the ms2000. so basicly the microkorg and the ms2000 is nearly the same synth.. so the 8bit sounds you can create on the 2000 you can do on the micro. i made two myself and it is pretty cool!
