HI ellll - Wow - you've got some tense chords in there - high emotional content - a very somber piece. I like it - even though I wasn't in a somber mood Smile Please repost after you finish it. Man I can't play like that !! That is so cool you can play all those fancy chords and have them fit together.

One thing I did note on the recording quality is that it seems flat - has no depth. I have no idea why or a recommendation. maybe someone else will.

Cheers,

={> Art

Yes, nice chord changes and moody feel. Relaxing in while complex. Nothing wrong with getting something in your head and going for it!

I think the depth DrWho has in mind may be solved with a little less sustain pedal, or at least more dynamic use of it. That way the low end notes don't compete, and the mids don't sound intonal due to overlapping.

Jon

Oh, I like it soooooo much!
And I find the title to fit perfectly with the song!
I agree with the usage of more dynamics and less sustain pedal...but I can unsderstand that lower notes need to be sustained during long chords, to form a wide, full and rich sound.
I love these chord changes and progression: very very good!

Regards

Hi John

Good to hear another song from you.

I like the less warm sound of the piano here - the somewhat lack of 'brightness' in the tone lends to the sense of coldness and sombreness.

You are so good at painting pictures with your music - I found that the sustained notes created a sense of swirling, windblown snow.....is this what you intended? Could just be my imagination going wild!

Great chord progressions as always - I love the shift into B flat from G. And beautiful melodies --- especially just after 2:30.

Regards from
Dee

The chords really stand out here as was mentioned. Seems like it needs an ending, but otherwise it sounds nice just the piano as is. We love to hear these pieces from you Ellll. Nice work. I always feel like I'm sitting beside you on the bench watching you play.

Hello , friends!!,

I feel humbled that you find new worth in my improvs. of recent. They are so hard to FINISH...., as I am impatient with myself more than I used to be. The points made will certainly be regarded...., and I will re-do and complete this.

In fact, I did plan for a bit of over-sustain in the feel for the mottled landscape and air of an increasing, growing snowfall, (thanks Dee..), but it alos lacks some possible definition in lower notes ..(thanks Art, Jon and Diego as well (Very Happy ....)

I already have it on a different set of simple Fx...and I think it improves the depth without removing a slightly muddled gathering of notes in places that I hoped would depict snow...

I am on the ending. It was supposed to have strings...but I may leave it piano.... (Thanks George!!!)

My Thanks, and ALSO .., a beg for forgiveness .., for not being more on the point with my listening's of recent.... I will get more done this last three months for all of you...I really will...................

My Best to all, John (ellll) Rolling Eyes

I wish I could get my brain to think about chord progressions this way, I have nothing but praise for this one.
Very Happy

Some lovely haunting progressions here John.

What I find fascinating about your compositions is the way they convey an emotion or event, and usually just through the piano.

I tend to play and eventually something might start to appear.

I get the feeling you work the other way and already around with the musical ideas already in place.

Cheers Simon

Hi Simon,

Thanks for your interest! I do usually have a few simple tunes and progressions in mind, and then try to elaborate.....

Yet, I also admit to getting pretty far away from my original series at times; I just get to improvising and go off on a bit of a tangent... Sometimes I am able, even so..., to keep the feel for where I really want to go...

Again, thanks for the comments, and for your good work here at the forum!!

My Regards! John (ellll)
