hi, I have a korg pa2xpro, and an Imac with a 2.16 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 2 GB RAM and have recently purchased Logic Studio.
As I understand it, the Korg manual tells me I don't need an interface but I can't seem to record audio. Might I just have it set up incorrectly or is the Korg purely a midi interface?
I have followed the manual and it's just not happening.
Ideally I want to be able to record both the sounds in logic and the sounds on the korg including the voice processor effects.
could anyone help out please?

actually, you can all relax as I am on the way to working it out Cool .
what really confused me was the Korg manual saying I didn't need another interface if I was going to use it with a computer Confused . If that was true, and we all know Korg is the greatest organisation to ever come out of Japan, we'll except the company who puts out all that cartoon porn Very Happy ......I digress, sorry.....oh and the company who sell those little bags of seaweed chip things Very Happy , yum.....oh sorry Embarassed .
anyway, it seems it's a digital thing, i can run an audio signal digitally, who would've thought?
I have had a lot of trouble finding a 3.5 to 3.5 SPIDF cable, but I have ordered one and it's coming next week.
I have also been thinking about an interface and in fact have been bidding on ebay for a Edirol FA-66, but it's up to $320 and I can get a new M-Audio FireWire Solo for $280 new, so, what to do Confused ?
In the meantime I have been reading up on and practising with the Logic Studio, it's just a beautiful, even the manuals are glorious Cool !
So thanks for thinking about thinking about me, if you did, but all is well in the land of mr.bptc Smile
ciao bellas n fellas

Hello. My nightmare remains in creating a home studio.

I have a Korg Pa2xPro workstation/arranger, an Imac with a 2.16 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 2 GB RAM, and am running Logic Pro 8 through an Edirol Fa-66 interface.

The interface is connected to the Mac via firewire and the Korg is connected to the Mac with a USB cable. I have analog line out from the Korg into the interface which is output connected to powered monitor speakers.

The problem is I cannot send a Korg ‘style’ to Logic, as in drums, accompaniment, and bass on separate tracks. I also have no output of Korg sounds even though Logic recognises the Korg, the Edirol, and GM2 separately when a new external midi track is selected.

I have installed the driver and the Korg manual instructions have been followed to a ‘t’, as in ‘local off’, ext sequencer ticked in the midi control, but the problem remains.

Presently, I can only use the Korg as a trigger for the Logic, but I need access to the Korg sounds and styles as well as the Logic instruments collectively, and according to the Korg manual, this should be possible. Please HELP!

Thank you, much love, Brian
