Kossi asked in this thread :

http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=41486

... whether these new sounds for the R3 could be made available for the Radias. I have been working with my R3 -> Radias converter today and have most of the patches converted (and sounding great!), except for the Vocoder patches (difficult to convert). So that would be 112 new Radias patches !

I need two favours.

1) I need a German speaker (or writer!) to contact Korg Germany and ask if it is okay for us to share these R3 patches converted to Radias format.
2) I need one or two Radias power users to "beta test" the converted patches to check they all seem okay, before we give them out to everyone. If you happen to have an R3, even better.

Thanks !

Daz.

I now have all of the (non-vocoder) patches converted and working well.

I used to speak a bit of german but I haven't used it for ages now, so unfortunately I don't think I will be much help on that one, however, I would be happy to test them for you.

Hi Daz,

Since I live in Germany I speak the language fluently.
I would take care of asking for authorization to use the converted patches.

Greetings

I am going to have an updated package for you testers shortly, which will also include all the R3 factory programs converted using my updated converter code, and also cleans out some of my own programs/kits that were left in the Radias memory and ended up in the RDL.

Grapite and X-Trade ... check your PM box. I've upped a new zip containing the latest Radias versions of these Phillip Muench patches and also the Korg R3 factory sounds. Once we hear from the German folks, I'll post both patch sets for Radias users in one single download.

I've tested this quite closely, so it should all be good.

Thanks Jerry !

The patches are ready to roll pretty much, so just waiting for permission to share.

Behind the scenes, Grapite and X-Trade have been doing a great job of QA'ing the conversions ... thanks guys !

Hi Daz, Hi Jerry,

I´ll leave it up to Jerry then, to do the legal stuff. Thank You!
Still, if you should need my help, just let me know.

These Patches will make the Radias go wild! And the users very happy!
I´d like to know, if they sound the same on a Radias. Did anybody have
the possibility for direct comparison?

Greetingz from Germany,

The great majority of the patches sound exactly the same on the Radias as they do on the R3. The only exceptions are those that use the R3's DWGS waveforms that are not available on the Radias (which has a different set of mixed PCM and DWGS waves). I trained my software to map those DWGS waves to the most appropriate waves available on the Radias, and generally the result is fairly good if not perfect.

Daz.
