|
|
Hello,
Does anybody know if there's some physical failure in one knob of my microkorg (4/EG RELEASE)?
I reset the whole thing (PRELOAD) and started to edit from the very beginning (SHIFT+3, 3).
I started to check parameters rolling this knob and wrote down values what screen says (this value was only blinking). After is real range from the manual.
Pitch (bend range): (2), should be -12...12
Osc2 (tune): (1), should be -63...63
Filter (EG int): (0), should be -64...63
Filter EG (release): (0...8 ), should be 0...127
AMP (track): (0), should be -63...63
AMP EG (release): (0...8 ), should be 0...127
LFO1 (freq): (10), should be 0...127
LFO2 (freq): (10), should be 0...127
Delay (depth): (0...8 ), should be 0...127
Almost every time this knob covers only 6-7% from the whole range??
Is it possible to calibrate this knob again, or is it just physical failure? And if so, is it possible to change this pot to new one by myself?
thanks!
best whishes,
Antti |

Have you tried cleaning the contacts with compressed air or proper contact cleaner yet? Might do the trick... |

i'll bet that knob is easy to replace.
unsolder it, get a new one and solder it back in.
i don't think you can calibrate the range of the knob, maybe it's only picking up in a few spots..
an easy attempt will be getting some of that electronics board cleaner..
take it apart, and spray it all inside the knob..
it drys fast, being high alcohol content. still i would let it dry for a little longer before giving it the juice.
this is just what I would do.. I'm not a korg tech or anything, and these recomendations are at your own risk
if you unsolder it, just becareful not to pull the trace up, look at some soldering basics online.
good luck |

Hi, I have similar problem. Knob 4 was broken, so I ordered a brand new pot, replaced it, but now the knob range is odd and still works erratically. For example pitch bend range shows -5...6 (should be -12...12). Sometimes it also jumps to other values.
Are the Korg pots so low quality or is there a way to recalibrate them somehow? |
