These are some shots I did of my gear (and my particularly photogenic guitar), when I first got my Practika SLR last year.

Ahhh, love the look of real film grain. They all look great.
You need a tripod, though. The third to last have just a tad bit of motion blur.

Are you using slide or print film?

The guitar images were done on slide film (accidental purchase Razz ) but you can really tell the difference. they look incredible.
A bit more grain on the other pictures, and generally looking a bit over-exposed... I think the ones of the Kawai K1 (2nd and 3rd to last) were done on 200 film, whilst the others on 100, and they look a lot better. I'm particularly pleased with the one of the guitar plug and the last one. This is the first time i've ever done something like this, so i've just been experimenting with different films. I have a few waiting to be processed from my sunrise project and that, so it'll be interesting to see how those pan out... or if they are even any good.

its really difficult on a manual camera to get the combination of light, shutter, film ISO, and apature right. Especially when your light meter starts dying on you Rolling Eyes
