Hi!
Finally I got my Trinity back...but in a smaller version, this time is a rack
I sold my Trinity two years ago and now I bought a Tr-Rack, which is really good as the Trinity was.
I'm sorry to tell that I can't find anywhere MSB and LSB values for selecting programs/combi from the master keyboard.
Can you point me in the right direction, please?
Maybe I missed something in the manual.
Well, just a nother question...Is it possible to switch from Prog to Combi mode just using standard midi or I need to use SysEx?

It should be the same CC messages as with the keyboard.
Prog to Combi is button or sysex. Do you need the codes ? |

Hi!
As I'm using the Tr-Rack in live gigs, too, I've programmed all my setups from the master keyboard (S90 ES) and when I switch from one "sound" to the following using the switch pedal on the yamaha, I need the change the prog/combi number into the rack.
and, afaik, I need to have MSB, LSB and program number to do that.
So, can you tell me what is the right combination?
IE, on the yamaha S90 ES, MSB=0 LSB=0 means GM bank, MSB=63 LSB=0 means User bank 1, and so on...

Good list.
And for sysex:
Change Modes F0,42,30,3B,4E,XX,00,F7
XX Values:
00 Combi
01 Edit Combi
02 Program
03 Edit Program
04 Sequencer or Multi
05 Global
06 Disk
assuming your midi channel is set to 1. |

Hi Timo!
well, it's not complex, I was just missing parameters value.
Thanks a lot, Francois!
to send sysex datas, I think, I need to have a sequencer, which I haven't on my S90 ES, but I don't need it in live gigs, I can use always the combi mode.
I could program on my software sequencer the sysex if I need to.
I'm just wondering...It seems that the program change CC is composed from three parts, control 0, control 32 and then value. is this equal as MSB and LSB and then program number?

Yes, you need both CC0 and CC32 to select the bank, and then program change to select the patch of that bank.
As for sysex data, it depends whether your instrument can record and send sysex. For example, when I was using my X3 a lot, I used it to record sysex from other instruments and send it again. So if your S90 can record sysex, it could record your sequencer sending the "switch to prog mode" message, then the "switch to combi mode" message, and play it back to the TR when needed. |

I've gotten as far as switching between banks within PROGRAM. Where would I need to enter the sysex data that switches the mode form PROGRAM to COMBI. before CC0 and CC32? or after? where does this stuff go?
Change Modes F0,42,30,3B,4E,XX,00,F7
XX Values:
00 Combi
01 Edit Combi
02 Program
03 Edit Program
04 Sequencer or Multi
05 Global
06 Disk
this is what i have so far

baxuz, You have to send the sysex message to change to prog/combi FIRST and then the bank/program change. The reason is that on the Trinity, combi and prog use the same bank and program numbers for different sounds. Change to prog/combi and THEN choose the sound you want. |
