|
|
I just bought the microKorg XL, and I've got my ReMOTE 25 SL controller set up to send it MIDI. The SL has an encoder that's preset to deliver bank change messages as a CC0 (bank MSB) and CC32 (bank LSB) pair, which appears to be the exact format that the manual says the mKXL needs for this to work...but it's not working.
I tried to manually set up another free button on the SL to do this in case there was something incompatible about the way that Novation set up their "data/select" encoder, but I wasn't able to get my "homemade" one to have any effect either. On the other hand, Novation's preset set-up for program changes (going from each program, one by one in a row), works like a charm.
Has anybody else run into this? Both manuals definitely say that this is doable, so I'm clueless as to what's up. Thanks. _________________ Inspiron 6000, Pentium M 2Ghz, 2GB RAM, XP SP3 |Cubase 4.5.2 |Reason+Record |ReCycle 2.1 |Sound Forge 8 |PreSonus FireBox |microKorg XL |ReMOTE 25 SL |Akai MPD 16 |

Bit of a long shot as I don't know the XL, so this may be a load of b**x!....
but if Korg have implemented MIDI like the Triton or Karma, then changes won't take place until you send a subsequent program change command.
i.e. you need to send the bank select commands followed by a program change command. If you just send the bank selects, then nothing will happen.
