Hei!
So, after few months of search, and a lucky find, I've yesteday managed to lay my hands upon Korg's Orchestral Collection EXB-PCM06\07
Expansion for the Karma.
Also I have bought a few Floppy's (appearantly they are still manufactured wow!)
Backuped my KARMA, banks A & B.

Then, prepared to finally install the chips, I was so excited that I havn't noticed that the keyboard is still turned ON, while in-fronst of my eyes, really next the chip slot, written in big letters: "Caution! Turn OFF THE POWER! NO STATIC!"
Well, So I was so excited about finally installing the chips the I managed to forget powering off, and ofcourse once the chip touched the slot... POOF!
My Karma screen turned off, for good.
It DIED!

Is there a way fixing it?
could it be just a fuse?

Ofcourse I'm gonna take it to a professional technician But I will have time\money for this only later on, and I'm very troubled about it.
So, can anyone here relax me and tell me what happened and how fixable it is?

My heart goes out to you man - we all make mistakes. I so hope you recover from this but my advice is to get it to a technician ASAP.

I sincerely hope all works out well for you.
I am sure our learned leader, Mr Kay may possibly have some clues as to what may have happened but I still think a reliable Korg service centre is the best solution.

Good luck my friend
Let us know how you go...

Hmmm... check if the keyboard turns on again without the expansion boards. (Remove the boards with the keyboard turned OFF!!!!)

Well, if only a fuse problem, you can replace it. If you don´t have skills to open the Karma and replace, call a friend wich can do that.

See the internal power source photo and check if that fuse (2.5 A, 125 V) is burned. Try to replace it (with the Karma turned OFF !!!!!).

Shocked The best of solution, if you have doubts about to open and replace the fuse, is to send the keyboard to a Korg service.

Good luck! Wink

Ok, Thank you very much for advisory and care friends Smile

I took it to a technician who managed to fix my KARMA and it took
him one day!
And for the fair price of 100$

He told me that the power supplier burned and he replaced it.

So yesterday I've finally installed the chips, and everything works
properly, awesome strings and winds sounds!
Very recommanded!
Only dissapointed that there are no choir samples in it too...
But, well, much fun!

Again, thanks Smile
