Hi there,

Just bought a 2nd hand microsampler and either there is a serious problem with it or I'm just stubid Smile ... The problem is that no external audio-signal seems to reach the micro-sampler.

To pre-listen the "audio-in" I set the switch to the "line" position, assign the gain, assign the output of my external source (a microkorg), switch to the "sample" mode, keep the global key pressed, press some notes on the microkorg, but nothing happens. There is no light on the "audio in level" LED either. The same happens when I use the mic-input and the standard-mic delivered with the microsampler. It's not a cable-issue either. Even if I press the "sampling" button I don't hear anything, and doing some "blind-sampling" didn't work as well.

Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem? Or is there something I'm doing wrong?

Would very cool if someone could help me out with this!

Thanks in advance and best wishes
Daniel

Bummer - nightmare scenario - I hate sh*t like that happening.

You need to press both global and engage the loop button (so lit) to hear the sound source - you just mentioned the latter, but even so it should have registered on the input LED as green to red regardless of thru output.

If you have check the sampling level parameter is at the default, I can't think what else could be wrong as the gain knob covers input and you have also tested the mic so it can't be a potentiometer issue.

As both channels are dead would suggest more than just a dry joint. Next step is meter testing by an electrician.

Sorry if a bit vague - it's often quiet on here so you may not get a speedy answer - Question does anyone else have any ideas Question

Thanks a lot for your reponse, that was actually really fast! Smile

I checked the sample level also, but unfortunately it didn't help. After reading your post I now contacted the Korg-support and they confirmed me that the input-LED should light up in every case when an external audio-signal comes in.

This means I'll definitely have to go to a electrician... I'll keep you updated as soon as I got any news.

Cheers,
Daniel
