|
|
I'm thinking about buying a Karma and I have a few questions. I hope you guys can help
1. I know the power supply is external. If I purchase a karma from overseas (110 v) will I need to purchase a step down transformer or can I simply get a plug adaptor?
2. I have a Z1 with the expanded MOSS board so it has 18 voices. Can I use one of the expansion boards in the Karma?
Thanks for you help

Hi James
Personally, I would just order a Karma power supply locally - then you will have no issues. The power supply is a Korg proprietary item as it has a very specific plug. I don't think that they are very expensive.
If the Moss Board is the same model as for the Karma then yes!!
The EXB series for the Triton are compatible with the Karma.

Don't do that !!! just get it - you will be blown away
Cheers

Congratulations! It truly is a fantastic instrument.
By the way I think the voice expansion for the Z1 is quite a 'rare' board and not the same as the EXB-MOSS that goes in the KARMA and Triton. _________________ Current Gear: Kronos 61, RADIAS-R, Volca Bass, ESX-1, microKorg, MS2000B, R3, Kaossilator Pro +, MiniKP, AX3000B, nanoKontrol, nanoPad MK II,

Hey X-trade,
thanks. It looks amazing like the ones on ebay going as EXB-moss. Either way. having 18 separate voices of MOSS is still good and karma can be used over midi.
I can't wait to get it. Stephen Kay seems like a real nice guy. I wonder if he has thought about putting karma technology into a kaoss pad? I really only bought the karma board for the karma technology. Having karma technology in a kaoss pad would be absolutely filthy. |
