|
|
Hi all im looking for something simple. I intend to create a song in the M50 (bass, drums, keys etc) then upload it to a sequencer via SD card where i can record vocals. I have used Reason before so am familiar with DAW's but this felt like overkill for me. I have an M50, Edirol UA 4FX, and a decent laptop (not mac). thanks in advance. |

Reason is nothing like a 'normal' DAW. It is more of a software based hardware-experience studio.
Anyway, if you want to work with the actual sounds from the M50, then you won't be able to 'upload it to the computer by SD card'. On the SD card you can only save MIDI or SEQuencer SoNG files which are just MIDI and setup data - the notes you played, controllers you adjusted, program numbers, etc.
And why spend money on a workstation with great sounds if you're not going to use them? you might as well have got a MIDI controller and done it all in your software. _________________ Current Gear: Kronos 61, RADIAS-R, Volca Bass, ESX-1, microKorg, MS2000B, R3, Kaossilator Pro +, MiniKP, AX3000B, nanoKontrol, nanoPad MK II,

Thanks for replying X-trade. I know that Reason is unlike other software like Cubase etc, and that MIDI is just data and completely different from audio. I suppose what im trying to say is that i want to be able to record songs/pieces when the inspiration comes and then play them to the rest of the band to see what they think via e-mail as a wav. If not i will save the projects on the M50 and just play them back to my friends as and when i see them.
The sounds are great and whilst my band are mainly a rock band i would like to do solo projects in various genres for my own pleasure. I take the keys to various places hence the choice to buy the korg as everything i need is right there. If i was just doing home stuff then a controller and software would be a better, cheaper option.
Thanks again, and all the best for the new year. |
