Hi,

for example here in the specs it says:

EXi Program Common
Advanced Vector Synthesis:
Control oscillator volumes and synthesis & effects parameters via the Vector Joystick and the tempo-synchronized Vector Envelope.

Regards,
Peter

Are you referring to woodwind / brass PM sounds? Always would have liked to see them in OASYS. If you look at the specs, there is no such model there (at the moment).

As Oasys and Z1 owner I could say that Oasys has excellent woodwinds specially in EX3 (also included in Kronos) and also bowed strings but both are part of HD-1 engine (samples). In many cases (specially bowed strings) can sound more realistic in Oasys than Z1, but in Z1 they are far more expressive from my point of view.

In short:
Oasys -> HD-1 samples: more realistics most of the time (Z1 woodwins are excellent, bowed string are good but with room for improvement)
Z1 -> Physical Models: Far more expressive. For making music I prefer the more expresive instruments.
As PM models have a lot to do with computational power I think they could implement better PM with current processors than the one used in Z1 so I'd like to see these woodwinds / Brass / Bowed string models implemented in Oasys / Kronos with current technology available in the same way STR-1 implemented in Oasys/ Kronos sounds better than the PM implemented in Z1.

Then I hope you know about Camel Audio Alchemy. Up to 600 oscillators for additive. It can analyze a sample and convert it to an additive patch that sounds just like the sample. Then you can start morphing. (Unfortunately, most of the people on the Camel Audio forum seem to be obsessed with how well Alchemy can do sample playback. The additive capabilities don't get enough attention IMO.)

Since Alchemy is just a plug-in that works on an x86 processor, I guess something like that could conceivably work on a Kronos. That would be awesome.
