I'd rather have a slider, barring that I'd rather have a big ol' door knob like I used to have on my quadrasynth back in the day. Being able to really see what the value is rather than feeling for it is a big plus. Maybe the solution is to replace the knob with something both bigger and with a pointer... especially if it goes to 11.
