Funny as much as it would be nice to have an Oriental the new sounds don't encourage me to pay the higher cost for it. I'll wait and see if the original will come down in price.

How about a WD kit. drums like the WD with out the electronics but still retaining the rims and heads and sensors and transducers and mics then linking them together in a master unit. Two, three, four etc. WD.s and a third special one for a kick. Just dreaming a bit I suppose.

Actually I would be more tempted by the oriental if the plastic portion wasn't white!. I don't like the red white theme, I do like the red! Heck use the original base and the red rim!

Re: the dark red/white combination, I wonder if the designer was thinking of far-east oriental rather than middle-east oriental. Just imagine how striking it would be if this drum had a bluish metal darbuka tone, or some earth tone.
Maybe with some inlaid shell ornaments Smile

Wait, I might be giving Korg ideas for the $799 super-limited edition. Smile

When the warranty is up I will be stripping mine down and finishing it the way I want.

I see in another post wavedrummer mentions increased sensitivity and no lag between switching loops. I think those items might entice me in that direction!
