No, we won't even begin to debate below "Kronos 4 ULTRA EXTREME". |

Do you know what?
I'd be happy just to play what's already going to be available
Sure as sh1t aren't going to start second-guessing what Korg will release in the future.
All these "failings" that Kronos has, until we try it in the real world, may not even seriously manifest themselves.
IMHO, give the current machine a chance before signing its death-warrant.
A wish-list is fine, but these could be updates to the current machine....
I'm not slagging anybody off - life's too short for that, but wow.... let's see what this is like first. Korg may surprise its customers by supporting/developing this machine even more.... who knows? I don't, but then with all due respect, neither do you.
All you've got is a history....
Sounds like I'm having a grumble, and I might be (I think!), but hopefully you can see my reasoning for posting this. _________________ Yamaha SY77 & KX88, SSL Nucleus, Korg Kronos 61, Wavestation A/D, Access Virus B, Roland XP30, DeepMind12D, System 1m, V-Synth XT, Focusrite Red16Line, Unitor 8, Akai S3000 XL, Alesis Quadraverb+, Focal Shape Twins, Full fat iMac, Logic Pro X, ProTools 2021, loadsa plugins.

Although it's premature to talk about the successor of the KRONOS, I actually DO have a wish for the next generation: an extra control surface just above the keybed in the form of a long strip (as long as the keybed) allowing for a seamless pitch control, like the Haken Continuum which can be seen in action in this video clip (I hope to get one before long, if finances permit me).
It allows for a dimension of expression not available on any other keyboard, and if you have this level of control together with a good modeling synthesis engine the options for musical expression are phenomenal.
The up-and-down movement on the Continuum in the video clip could be done by for instance an X-Y pad, so there's no need to make the strip wider than for instance 4-5 cm.
I hope to see the day soon that workstations will feature such a controller integrated in the workstation. |

Kronos 3 will come with a musically inclined 3rd world orphan to play parts of the 128 key weighted and unweighted wraparound keyboard version, plus a fee DVD of "The 500 Fingers of Dr. Terwilliger" that plays on the i-pad interface.

Kronos 4 doesn't have keys, it is a direct nural interface to your brain! Think it and it plays! |
