Ironic isn't it, given that our US brethren also earn significantly more ($48,000) per capita than we in the UK do ($37,400). So taking average earnings into account, we have to skip a lot more meals in order to purchase the same item. And that's even before you add VAT. _________________ [Free Moss Set For All Workstations With Moss Expansion]

Lol! Wake up on the wrong side of bed?
In a UK price thread you bring up the topic of the EU..... Therefore my response is perfectly valid IMHO.
Has nothing to do with the tragic events unfolding in Japan. _________________ Yamaha SY77 & KX88, SSL Nucleus, Korg Kronos 61, Wavestation A/D, Access Virus B, Roland XP30, DeepMind12D, System 1m, V-Synth XT, Focusrite Red16Line, Unitor 8, Akai S3000 XL, Alesis Quadraverb+, Focal Shape Twins, Full fat iMac, Logic Pro X, ProTools 2021, loadsa plugins.

No worries
It's a real tough one with prices - not just for Korg, but anything that's being exported from Japan (ie most things!!)
This could cripple their economy, the bank as of today has injected $200 billion, and still the markets are falling
So aside from the awful human cost (and ongoing cost), there are some seriously tough times ahead..... and not just for Japan, but as rest of the world relies so heavily on their economy.......
Very troubling. _________________ Yamaha SY77 & KX88, SSL Nucleus, Korg Kronos 61, Wavestation A/D, Access Virus B, Roland XP30, DeepMind12D, System 1m, V-Synth XT, Focusrite Red16Line, Unitor 8, Akai S3000 XL, Alesis Quadraverb+, Focal Shape Twins, Full fat iMac, Logic Pro X, ProTools 2021, loadsa plugins.

I Dare say that if we in the UK ever joined the Single currency....
the term "Spending a Penny" would be changed to "Euronating"

I think my main point (posted yesterday) was missed.
I was not price speculating.
I wondered how much UK customers would be prepared to pay for their Kronos? |

Ahh - sorry missed that!!!
erm, I'd be VERY happy with a 61-key for around the £2.6k (3000 EU or $4000)......
I fear it's going to be more like £200 more though, but I'll probably still pay it. I was going to get an M3 & Fantom G6 for the same money...... this is the other option!!

For me, it would have to be the '61 (space issues and a preference for synth action).
Depending on how I feel after demoing the unit, I'd possibly go up to £2500 tops. If it's going to be around £3k though, then I'll pass until it comes down (or get one 2nd hand).
I don't really need a new workstation at this stage - I still have 80% left to explore in the M3 yet, not to mention lots of other goodies I've acquired recently _________________ CURRENT GEAR: A yellowing Casio PT-80, 4 leaking batteries and some broken headphones.

I just phoned the nice folks at instruments2go.co.uk, following the UK launch event yesterday, and got the prices for the K-73. RRP is £3,598, and the street price is £2,999. They expect the first units in June. |
