My studio etc has been in the basement. I want to start existing above ground level! So, time to move. The new place has a nice room with cathedral ceiling for the organ, and piano, and a good room for Kronos / DAW etc. for synth work, mixing etc. Of course conditional offer, so not yet a done deal. |

10. Work through Ozy’s posts (many even longer than mine!!)
9. Bitch about Roland and Yamaha
8. Complain to Korg about all the things we’re guessing they’ve left out
7. Apologise to Dan after we reaslise we got it wrong (I’m good at this one )
6. Start a thread on something practical like what keyboard stand to buy for it and by post 50 have solved world peace and global warming (or alternatively have branded everyone else a hateful fascist).
5. Look earnestly in the mirror and remind yourself that sure isn’t life too short so that’s why it’s OK that you’re about to fork out yet another $5000
4. Buy the new Fairlight iPad app – it’s really cool – but by God is it revealing just how far we’ve come in 30 years
3. Finish Ozy’s posts
2. Throw in a bitchin session about Jordan Rudess for good measure
1. Get ready to become a new kid in a new candy shop all over again - it's going to be worth it !!

will never happen.
It's something about Achilles and a Tortoise, or Achilles and a Arrow, something like that.

thats a good plan, hope your deal goes thru.
In my humble 1500 sq foot townhouse, my upstairs entertainment room
( can't really call it a studio) is 10' x 10', big window , lots of light. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

In earnest, here are four:
1. sign up to www.karma-lab.com where far more focused discussions occur and where Stephen Kay has placed massive resources on line - videos, tutorials, forums, wikis... associated with all Korg workstations with Karma.
2. Download the OASYS Performance Guide and pick individual chapters on the various synth engines, Karma and so on. There is an ocean of info here - all 100% relevant to Kronos. All you read will be an advantage - this is a very, very deep instrument.
3. Buy Mike Conway's unofficial OASYS DVD or watch some of his Youtube segments to learn about various features of OASYS that are identical on Kronos.
4. Visit the OASYS forum, read some legacy threads and get a flavour of the Kronos issues to arise
...so there's your homework for the next two months!! I'm confident that if you do that then there will be plenty of new posts on this forum.

You mean the Operation Guide, do you? (OASYS_Op_Guide_v1_3_E5.pdf)

In fact I don't have enough time now to follow all topics I'm interested in. What will happen after Kronos arrives?
This forum (OASYS section) already contains many helpful answers to the coming questions of new Kronos users. Unfortunately, not many people like to use the Search function or have the time to find the answers. It's much more comfortable and easier to ask.
There should be a clear and salient statement somewhere for novice members like "Kronos is highly similar to OASYS. Search also the OASYS section of the forum for answers regarding Kronos."
Maybe I put in in my sig.
PS. Besides the 14 good ideas I have another simple one: practicing, composing and playing music, enjoying our existing instruments.
Best regards,

Hi Akos -
Thanks for the correction - I meant the OASYS Parameter Guide. Of course all OASYS documentation is relevant because all OASYS features are in Kronos - but of coruse the Parameter Guide chapters on AL-1, MOD-7, STR-1 an dso on will be essentially the same in the Kronos Parameter Guide.
Your extra idea - the most important one of all !!
