Hi frédérick,
I also have a Pa588. The synth engine in this instrument is very powerful offering a wide range of editing per sound. I think if you delve into the sound editing capabilities you will be able to customize a piano sound to your liking.
If you can give me an mp3 example of the type of piano sound you are striving for, I'll try to make some edits and send them to you. My e-mail address is in my profile.
Best Regards,

I really don't agree. I know that you are a little miffed that the Pa588/500 doesn't include damper triggering of samples, but seriously, to say that their patch editing capabilities are not powerful is unfair. The flexibly offered in patch editing and creation is extremely versatile, especially when compared to some other brands or arranger keyboards. And to ask Korg to update the O/S to include features of the Pa2XPro/800 isn't reasonable; they are more expensive instruments and should have more features.
Enjoy the Pa588 for what it is and all that it does offer; a great 88 note weighted action keyboard, great sounds and styles, good built-in amplification, etc. |

Hi joelekinox,
I assume you are referring to the Clavinet part (parts actually because there are multiple clavinet parts on that song). You should be able to find a Clavinet sound in the Pa588 that will work. It may require a little editing to get the tone you want, but I'm sure it can be done with the existing sounds that are in the Pa588.
Best Regards,

Hi,
If you mean the jazz group videos, I am using a Roland RD700SX (since then replaced with the newer RD700GX w/SuperNATURAL Piano expansion). I had the RD700GX prior to getting the Pa588 and use it in band situations since it is a bit easier to carry around. If Korg only made the PA588 without internal speakers to cut down on the size and weight I would definitely replace the RD700GX with it because it is so much more capable; more and better sounds, extremely programmable, sequencer, etc.

What do you think, how much weights the PA 588 int. soeakers?
Seems it would be easy to take them off for carying around on gigs. _________________ Korgs: i5s,PA-588, ih,ax5b. |

The internal speakers do add some weight but probably not that much. Besides, they are mounted in enclosed, ported boxes that are inside the instrument case so it is not possible to remove or replace them easily. The 88 note weighted action and the thick particle board case bottom is where the real weight is anyway.
