Are there any limitations to this feature? Can it be used in sequences while they are playing?
Switching from sound #1 to sound #2 will provide a seamless transition, but switching to sound #3 will cut off sound #1 along with its effects. In practical live use, this situation will hopefully be rare.
With Set Lists in mind, we specifically built in the capability to switch sounds within a sequence while the sequence is playing, which is handy for performing along with a track. If you switch from one sequence to another, however, the first sequence will stop. |

I'm thinking even the craziest proggers won't be changing three complete soundsets within seconds of each other. But for wacky situations like that, there's always sampling or something.

That's kind of how sequencers work, sure enough. On my Ensoniq TS-10, the sequences can be called up individually by buttons, and you can play on empty tracks, and call up another sequence which will wait until the other ends to transition. Arrangers may be a little more clever on how this is handled. With the KRONOS letting you set up sequences in the Set List, maybe Rich or someone can tell us how this behaves, whether sequences will play to the end and then start the next or what. _________________ PRAY FOR THIS PLANET!! |

It really works!
I don't know how they did it, but it's amazing. On Fantom-G they could do this by cutting the parts in half in live set. So, half of the processors could be used at a time, and the other half would be ready for the next sound.
On, Kronos, you can use ALL 16 of the processors, and still change over to next sound smoothly. Are there 32 effects processors in KRONOS? _________________ Roland Fantom-G6 ARX1, Korg M3-m exb-Radias, Korg Z1-18v, Roland MC-808, Roland MC-909, Korg microKontrol. |

No, but the CPU has two cores and hyperthreading, that's like having four cores. Simply during SST the CPU works harder to retain all effects. That's all. This is the advantage of a non-fixed processing structure. |
