I agree, that is the L.Mays German Grand. I'm not much of a keyboard player, but that is one of my favorites from what I've heard.
For sure will sound very nice in an ambient setting.

After I learnet about vst's I never thought I would ever want to buy a keyboard again. Well it all changed when I first heard Kronos pianos. Come to Papa kronos , come to Papa Smile THis keyboard will be the best keyboard for live performance, imagine using those pianos on stage. Just a dream

To my ears, a lot of what I'm hearing in the pianos (albeit via youtube videos, with all the disclaimers that implies) seems to sound too percussive, i.e. with too extreme an attack, sounding like an exaggerated hammer strike compared to what you normally hear sitting at a piano. Does anyone else have this concern? I wonder if this characteristic is within the range of things that can be adjusted, or if it is just inherent in the samples, perhaps from being recorded at a distance closer to the hammers than ones ears ever are. It is a complaint I have with many (but not all) digital pianos.

Maybe it's a matter of which video we happen to choose to listen to... but I'm more encouraged again about the pianos after hearing this demo that was just posted in the "All Access Party" thread...

An Italian performer shows off a little more of what the Kronos is capable of. First, pianos and a bit of synth stuff.

Then more synths and orchestral things, finishing up with some handy organ.

The orchestral oriented passages begin around 2:40, but you should check out the whole thing. He demonstrates why it's important how you play orchestral textures, as his stuff is sweet.
