This is from the first public live demo (at least as far as I know) in Germany.
The Music Store Cologne, formely a big, but quite crowded place in town center, reopened in a much larger building.
On this occasion the Kronos was demoed on Monday and Tuesday. It was nice that the demos I saw went through some presets I hadn't heard before. Else there was much talk about all the meanwhile well known engine and parameter facts.
And yes, the live sound of the Kronos is impressive.
Luckily I had already been warned by online demos to hear some of the - for my taste - B3 "Kitsch sounds": some really wimpy fast Leslie presets. Thankfully, I have heard more up to date B3 settings than that from the Kronos meanwhile, and don't really worry about the CX3 quality any longer.
By the way, everybody I talked to in the store was heavily irritated not to get any price and ordering possibility up to now (see other thread). I just mention it, because it definitely IS an issue here, if people otherwhere want to acknowledge it or not!
The Kronos itself showed great beyond any doubt.
P.S. The video is not done by me, I just commet because I was there.

jimknopf,
thanks for the update.
It's good to see that the Kronos has apparently been arrived at a retail store.
You want to get price information?

Unfortunately it did not really arrive at a retail store. It was a (pre-production?) K61 (serial no 00005) for a demo at the opening of a new store of Music Store in Cologne. No final prices could be given, but according to the Korg representative in the video, the street prices in Europe are probably going to be around 3000 (K61), 3300/3400 (K73) and 3700 (K88), with first delivery on the end of June (K61), end of July (K73) and end of August (K88). Also the delivery dates are still subject to change. |

I wouldn't pay more than 2800€ for a kronos 61
otherwise I would import it via borderlinx (https://www.borderlinx.com/m/total-cost-calculator).
Costs apply to Germany:
Duty $ 93.99, EUR 67.37
Taxes $ 620.06, EUR 444.45
Shipping (20.00 kg) $ 170.50, EUR 122.21
Total shipping charges $ 884.55, EUR 634.03
Plus original product value $ 2999.00, EUR 2149.65
Total cost $ 3883.55, EUR 2783.69
The only problem is probably the warranty... |
