Dan or Rich ...
Could you explain what "True Damper Resonance" means and how it works on the KRONOS? _________________ ”It’s easy to play any musical instrument: all you have to do is touch the right key at the right time and the instrument will play itself.”

I have a Yamaha Damper pedal. Will this work with Kronos or do I have to get the Korg version? |

I've re-posted this question in the sticky topic http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=58483&start=255 "A Few Answers" _________________ ”It’s easy to play any musical instrument: all you have to do is touch the right key at the right time and the instrument will play itself.”

Any damper/sustain pedal will work with the Kronos, with the exception of the Kronos half-pedaling function. Only the Korg DS-1H Damper pedal supports half-pedaling (this was true in the Triton series, the OASYS, and M3).
If you don't know what half-pedalling is, you probably won't miss it.
If you use a non-Korg Damper pedal, you may have to change the "Global Mode", Damper Polarity setting (see Kronos Parameter Guide page 761). |

The Yamaha FC3 pedal is half damper. _________________ Korg Kronos 61, DSS-1, EX-8000

So are you saying the FC3 will work as a half damper pedal on the Kronos. If so, I am set. |

Here's a better pedal and one I strongly recommend:

No, I'm not saying that; I don't know. I was just pointing out that the Korg isn't the only half damper pedal. _________________ Korg Kronos 61, DSS-1, EX-8000

Korg has always claimed only the Korg DS-1H supports the half-damper effect on Korg keyboards.
You can try another pedal if you want, but don't be surprised if the half-damper effect does not work.
You have nothing to lose by testing it. I doubt Korg tests other manufacturer's pedals. |

I've got the Yamaha FC3 and it does NOT work with the M3, which I assume is the same as the Kronos. It has a TRS 1/4" end.
The Korg half damper pedal has a TS end. I have been curious though if I just had an adapter to put on the end of the Yamaha pedal to make it a TS like the Korg pedal if it would work.
